Unbox Therapy goes hands-on with reMarkable

Popular ‘unboxing’ YouTube channel, Unbox Therapy, recently went hands-on with a reMarkable and Marker Signature.

The show’s host, known as ‘Lew,’ unpacked his reMarkable with schoolboy enthusiasm, happily declaring, “I feel like a kid right now.”

“This thing is cool,” he said.

In a similar vein to many of his clips, the video attracted over a million views in under twenty-four hours, along with over thirty-thousand likes and thousands more comments.

The feeling of friction between the Marker and CANVAS display, and how it so closely mimics writing on paper, was clearly a significant positive for the YouTube personality.

“[It’s] exactly like you’re writing on paper. It’s better than writing on a tablet, as far as I’m concerned,” he said.

He’s not the only one excited about that ‘paper feeling,’ with Wired Magazine also praising the handwriting experience on their website, as well as in August’s print edition.

One of reMarkable’s key selling points has long been that it’s a device designed to help you think better, just like paper does. We believe there’s something special about handwriting and it seems Lew agrees.

“There’s something about writing, still, where you’ve got the imagination going, and you want to explore it, there is something about the pen, paper, type of feeling.”
